Hello from inside Vortex Books & Comics. Now that winter is being elbowed out of the way by warmer weather, we are returning to normal hours. They are:
Monday and Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday through Saturday: 10am to 7pm
Sunday: 10am to 5pm
Which means you have extra time to make it to the store after work, and extra time to shop while you’re here! And when you do, you never know who you’ll run into…
(And yes, Brian and Steve have talked about it, and if there is to be any sort of public appearance, rather than a quiet, private visit, we’ll be sure to let you know).
Here’s what’s happening at the store for the rest of this month:
Saturday, March 15
3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Writer’s Group: Writers of all genres and skill levels are invited to come meet up with their peers and talk shop in an informal setting.
Sunday, March 16
12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Magic the Gathering: Free to play. Newcomers welcome. Standard and Commander.
Sunday, March 23
1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Signing with Kit Power, Jon Kaczka, and Stephen Kozeniewski: All the way from England, Kit Power is at Vortex for his very first U.S. signing! We’ll have his latest, Millionaires Day. And he’ll be joined Jon Kaczka who will be signing his debut novel Surviving the Summit Conference, and by Central Pennsylvania’s own Stephen Kozeniewski who will be signing all of his latest! Q&A with all three begins promptly at 1pm, followed by a signing.
The store will be CLOSED from Friday, March 28 to Sunday, March 30, as both Brian and mary will be attending AuthorCon V (a Scares That Care charity event) in Williamsburg, VA. For more on this event, click here.
A reminder about the new Vortex Book Club! The first meeting will take place on Saturday April 5th from 3pm to 5pm. Our selection is Halloween Nights: Tales of Autumn Fright, edited by James A. Moore. We have plenty of copies for sale here at the store (both hardcover and paperback). Come in and purchase your copy this month, take it home and read it, and then join the discussion on April 5th! Attendance is free, but you must have read the book to participate.
