Surprise Visitor Stephen...
Hello from inside Vortex Books & Comics, where Brian, Shane, and Angeli survived Free Comic Book Day! (Mary was out of town). Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the store. We still have a smattering of free comics left over, so if you missed out, please stop in and help yourself to them while supplies last!
We sold a LOT of back issue comics that day, which means we finally have room in the bins for more, so we’ve refreshed and refilled out stock, stop in this week and fill those holes in your collection!
Things are back to normal now… or at least, whatever semblance of normal can be found at Vortex. Seems like every day brings a surprise of some kind, and yesterday (Wednesday) was no exception, as bestselling author Stephen Graham Jones stopped in to visit!
SGJ was kind enough to sign all of our store stock while he was here. We’ll have them for sale today at cover price. First come, first serve, and no, we will not hold them for anyone.
Big things happening this weekend!
Todd Keisling and Elizabeth Broadbent both return to the store this Saturday, signing their new books The Sundowner’s Dance and Blood Cypress. We’ll have plenty of those (and their other books) in stock. Indeed, some stores have been having trouble getting The Sundowner’s Dance given how fast it keeps selling out. You are also welcome, of course, to bring their books from home to be signed. Their Q&A starts promptly at 1pm, and they will sign afterward.
Then on Sunday, as always, there’ll be Magic the Gathering from noon to 4pm.
And coming up on May 17th, it’s our second monthly Book Club from 3pm to 5pm. This month, we’re discussing Christopher Golden’s Snowblind, which you can purchase at the store for just five bucks!
