Hello from inside Vortex Books & Comics. Hard to believe we’re already almost 50 issues into this little store newsletter, isn’t it?
Our back issue comic boxes have been refreshed with a TON of recent additions — mostly Bronze Age to Current. And the Manga section has been fully restocked, as well.
Our monthly Book Club meets this Saturday from 3pm to 5pm. This month’s discussion is centered around Christopher Golden’s Snowblind.
We’ll be hosting Magic the Gathering this Sunday, as usual, from noon to 4pm.
Otherwise, things are slow — event-wise — for the rest of the month. That’s because in June we’ve got some MAJOR events, starting on Saturday June 7th when — all the way from Australia — Aaron Dries is doing a rare U.S. signing at Vortex! And he’ll be joined by Central PA’s own John Boden, also a rarity on the signing and public appearance circuit. We expect a crowd for this one! Q&A begins promptly at 1pm followed by a signing until 3.
Later that month we’ve also got Tim Waggoner, Jonathan Janz, Books of Horror’s R.J. Roles, and Mike Allen!
Also, on Saturday June 28th, we’ll be sponsoring EVIL EMBERS — an event taking place at Bube’s Brewery. For one night, some of your favorite horror writers are going to gather around the fire and tell you scary stories. Tickets are only five bucks! That’s right — $5.
